In Tinténiac, Ille-et-Vilaine, the company A.U.T (Application Usinage Technique) chose NEODITECH to optimize its part-handling operations. Specializing in turning and milling, A.U.T wanted to improve the ergonomics of a particularly demanding workstation: positioning parts in a machining center. Faced with constraints linked to lifting heavy loads and the many manipulations required to insert parts into vises, the company was looking for a simple, reliable solution—one that would eliminate the risk of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) for its operator.
Before the installation of the manipulator arm, the operator had to manually lift metal parts—sometimes quite heavy—to position them in the machining center. These operations required precision but also numerous rotations, which led to muscle fatigue and awkward postures.
Over time, these repetitive gestures can cause chronic pain for operators, highlighting the limits of the workstation.
To solve this problem, A.U.T decided to invest in a system that would reduce physical strain while maintaining flawless positioning precision.

After analyzing the workstation’s constraints and the operator’s expectations, NEODITECH proposed a custom solution: the SCARA PARTS manipulator arm, mounted on a fixed base. This arm, known for its smooth movement and intuitive use, mimics the natural behavior of a human arm, making handling particularly simple.
For this specific application, the arm was equipped with a pneumatic-magnet spreader designed to ensure a reliable grip on the parts. A rotation system was also integrated into the gripper to allow the operator to easily orient the parts as needed for machining—without extra effort.
This technical setup was developed in close collaboration between NEODITECH’s teams and A.U.T’s technical staff. The result: a turnkey solution, perfectly adapted to daily movements at this demanding workstation.
The impact of the installation was immediate. Thanks to the SCARA PARTS, the operator no longer has to manually lift or rotate the parts. Pain related to heavy lifting has disappeared, and handling components now involves no physical strain.
The ergonomic improvement of the workstation also allowed for smoother operations. The arm naturally follows movements, offering repeatable motion—essential in production environments like machining.
Finally, the simplicity of using the arm was praised by the operator, who quickly got the hang of it without complex training. This reflects NEODITECH’s commitment to providing technical solutions that are accessible and truly human-centered.
